The place we stayed in while in Rio de Janeiro had a safety net across all windows. Usually done as a safety precaution for families with small children, I thought this was an interesting new challenge to my photography. And since it prevented me from taking photos by looking down into the streets, I soon became fascinated to work with this different perspective.

Your pictures of Rio de Janeiro remind me of Buenos Aires.
The safety netting creates a whole new dimension for the pictures and the shadows add a special something extra.
I've never seen those nets on windows, but it's a good idea. A local 2 year old fell out a second story window this week.
A perspective that those who live there would se often, and most wouldn't think to look for.
