Bumble bees

Bumble bees: this has been another little project I've given quite a bit of attention this summer. Photographing bumble bees was fun, it was exciting and very rewarding! It left me with a little collection of photos with bumble bees in flight and on flowers, I might want to continue sharing with you.

Skills training

Feeling quite inspired by the success of my capture of a bumblebee, I wanted to know if the photo had been a lucky shot or if I am able to produce similar photos in a different context. So off I went, this time not to try my luck but my skills.

Catching butterflies

It's been a lovely sunny weekend and guess what I got up to? Catching butterflies. Inspired by the buzzing in the meadows, butterflies were not an easy catch. It seems that these little creatures are very sensitive to noticing attention, as soon as I focused the camera they were off again.

Urban wildlife

Got ya! This is the first time I caught a bumble bee in flight, and, honestly, I feel a bit proud of this shot.

Light

This is one of my experiments of taking a 'close up'. Sitting in my garden, with the light just in the right spot, I could not resist this one. For me insects and flowers have a kind of fascination I find hard to explain and fun to take photos of.

Light study

Walking in the forest, I found the sun shining onto the spider net. I was curious how much detail would come out and how the scene would work out as a photo.

Garden visitors

London, Nov 2012. This is the time of year when spiders seem to set up webs everywhere. Walking by this little fellow I could not resist the temptation the come up close.
