From above

From the air. The visual of a winter day. Cold, wet, frosty, with a bit of haze. Taking my camera wherever I go increasingly inspires me to experiment with pictures. Can I make my experience into a visual that will inspire others? Many of my friends who live in a tropical climate and have never experienced a bitter cold winter have asked how it feels like. Is it possible to convey winter with a photo, or is the photo a reminder of a feeling for those of us who know?

It does look cold to me -- i'm not from the tropics, as we do get freezing weather here.

Actually, compared to what we get in most of Canada, that doesn't look so bad! lol

It is a reminder of a feeling for me. I now live in Florida, but I came from New Hampshire, where we spent many winters way below zero. Now, I have become a weather wimp!

I wouldn't know what cold looks or feels like (living in Florida) but I do know that photo is amazing!!!

It's a really interesting question! I immediately thought of the way I feel when looking at photos of the Grand Canyon, which I have not visited, but then I realised that I borrow those emotions from the memories have of visiting canyons, plains and valleys in South Africa.

Gorgeous photo!

Fantastic! I love views from the air. I always have to have a window seat on a plane!
