Two months to go until I complete one year of documenting how the change of season affects the park and its visitors. As London prepares for yet another winter, nature and people change their 'dress'. And with the season there is a visable change in light and colour, as I could notice this morning when I had to turn up the ISO considerably to make sure I could still capture the scene as my eyes saw it.

Back in London it's time to document the change of season. This little project has been going since January when I took the first photo down this park walk inspired by the winter mood of the day. Since I have been visiting the same spot once a month to document how the seasons affect environment and people as both nature and humans change their 'coats' and adapt to the changes in weather and temperature.

Back in time in the park and at the spot to document the change of season marking the visual of the park. This has become a little pet project. I always thought I was well aware of the seasons but narrowing it down to the same place, same angle has focused my attention in a completely new way.

Back in the park at 'my spot' to document how the month are defining the park environment and culture. It seemed like it had been a while, in the meantime the festival had come and gone. Yet, the festival is a man-made influence and I wanted to focus on the natural seasons.

Back in the park, what stands out, apart from the trees' foliage growing strongly, is the change of usage. With the festival season all kinds of human presence is moving into the park and where we saw a shy green emerging in Spring we now find cars, tents and fences marking the urban presence.

Back in the park at 'my' spot, I took another photo to document the change of season. And I am amazed how much I am learning with this. As the seasons are quite pronounced in London, I was always aware of the change, but had not really picked up on the subtleties and little details that get caught in a photo.

Back in London and finding the city utterly changed over the last two weeks, I went out this morning to visit 'my spot' to take note of the change. It's been two weeks since I stood at this spot in the park. There is such power and energy in Spring and I'm amazed about the sudden explosion of foliage and flowers everywhere.

Back at the park noticing the change of season. This time round I noticed some shy evidence of Spring bringing in new colours and clothing. The leaves are now sitting at the tips of the branches waiting for that moment of warmth that says 'Winter is over'.

Back in the park at 'my' spot, I wanted to mark another moment as time moves on or doesn't it? This has been a very long winter and if nothing else, this photo shows how the season seems frozen in time.

Exploring the change of season, I went back to take a photo of the same scenery. This is an ongoing project over the next months to explore how the light, colours and textures change during the year.

This seems to have been a long and dark winter and I was ever so pleased to find the little messengers of Spring extending their colourful greeting. A nice opportunity to go up close and take this focused and detailed shot.

From above

From the air. The visual of a winter day. Cold, wet, frosty, with a bit of haze. Taking my camera wherever I go increasingly inspires me to experiment with pictures. Can I make my experience into a visual that will inspire others? Many of my friends who live in a tropical climate and have never experienced a bitter cold winter have asked how it feels like. Is it possible to convey winter with a photo, or is the photo a reminder of a feeling for those of us who know?

London, Nov 2012. Standing under the tree and with the wind catching the leaves, it looked as if the leaves were coming towards me and I suddendly realized why autumn was called 'Fall'.

London, October 2012. Autumn is all around us and since the weather has not quite invited us to be out and about, following my annual ritual to walk amongst the colourful change of leave has been somewhat of a challenge. Yet, despite the weather, I find that this season has something magical.

London, October 2012. On and off, the light of day has been dull and dark for days and I was walking through the park wondering how to create a photo that would show the mood of a cold wet autumn but still have a glimpse of amazement about the change of season.
